We are a Kenyan company promoting tourism, mining heritage, community empowerment and sustainable development in the Lake Victoria basin.
Our story
Pawmula began with a simple frustration: visitors kept passing through Migori on their way somewhere else, while the region's heritage sites, gold history and cultural life went untold. We started guiding friends. Then researchers. Then schools. The company grew out of the demand.
Our mission
To create experiential journeys that honour heritage, explain artisanal mining truthfully and channel tourism revenue directly into local hands.
Our vision
A western Kenya recognised globally for heritage tourism and responsible, community-owned mining.
Community impact
Guides, hosts and cooperatives are shareholders in every itinerary. A fixed share of each mining tour goes to the host cooperative, and community committees decide which projects the fund supports.
